Can we turn mobile games into active games?
A concept for a tablet game that encourages players to go outdoors.
Since most games, whether played on a console or a mobile platform, are played indoors (a notable exception being Seek 'n Spell) we explored the idea of taking mobile games outdoors. We drew inspiration from Halo's Forge, GeoCaching, Foursquare, Street View, Sketch Up, Crowd Sourcing, Gaming Communities, Accelerometer, GPS, Rear Mounted Camera, Augmented Reality, and Paint Ball. Our challenge was to create a concept for a tablet that would get couch potatoes to move outside. With help from my two sons, Matthew and Tino, we produced the following sketches, ideas and possible game play.
